Red Cross holds annual meeting

The Umina Beach branch of the Red Cross held its annual general meeting on July 9.

Service awards were presented and committee positions filled.

Mrs Marion Anderson was elected president, Mrs Gloria Peachey vice president, Mrs Pat Munday secretary, Mrs Jeanette Davie treasurer, Mrs Margaret Evans social secretary, Mrs Sylvia Timmins publicity officer, and Mrs Frankie Oates was elected patron.

Mrs Bonnie Johns and Mrs Alice Fitzpatrick, 103 years of age, were awarded 10-year service medals and Mrs Nila Nazarenko was awarded a 20-year bar.

The branch's next meeting will be held on September 10 at the Uniting Church Hall, Umina, and the branch will hold a 37th birthday lunch at Everglades Country Club on August 20.
