Time Out graduates ready for new year

Time Out is a program designed for students in years 7 and 8 of local schools that require assistance to increase their literacy, numeracy, social interaction and personal development skills.

The program is managed by non-profit organisation, Workwise and participating students come from schools located throughout Gosford.

Students take time out from their respective schools and travel to Ettalong for one or two days per week for two school terms, depending on their needs.

At Ettalong, the students attend fully supervised practical workshops aimed at rectifying deficiencies and encouraging them to develop greater self esteem by realising their individual potential.

Programme co-ordinator, Ms Renay Keane, was pleased to be able to say that at the end of each program, most of the participating students had acquired the confidence and self esteem to return to full-time schooling even though they said they were sad to leave the program.

Each student successfully completing the program receives a certificate of achievement.
