Students on path to Olympic choir
Ten students from Empire Bay Public School have been given the chance to join a massed choir of seven thousand students, made up from district choirs, who will sing at major events next year.
Some of the events include the Cultural Olympiad, Pacific School Games, the Paralympics, the Olympics and the Centenary of Federation.
The Empire Bay students were chosen to sing in a district choir comprised of 150 Central Coast children.
School Principal, Mr Fraser said: "These students have been members of our school choir and have gained much experience and a love of singing and performing".
The Empire Bay students are: Ben Lucas, Michael Glenn, Kirsty Rowan, Lauren Muller, Justin Miles, Ryan Reeves, Owen McRae, Matthew Hallows, Joanna Clarke and Michael Rule.
In other Olympic news, Member for Gosford, Mr Chris Hartcher, visited the school recently with a prototype of the Olympic torch.
Mr Hartcher showed the students the prototype, discussed its origins, its history and the route it will take to Homebush.
