Woy Woy High speakers into second round

Woy Woy High School Year 11 students have done well in public speaking as part of the Lions Youth of the Year competition.

Sarah McWilliam representing Woy Woy Lions Club, Amy Haddadi representing Ettalong Umina Lions Club and Phillip Bernie representing Woy Woy Peninsula Lioness Club were successful in the first round.

They will go on to represent their clubs in the second round zone judging, which will take place at Woy Woy Leagues Club in March.

Other students still to be judged in the first round are Jessica Mitchell, Michelle Gordon and Jaala Haynes.

Principal Ms Carolyn Carter said: "Congratulations must go to all the students who competed.

"It can be very nerve-wracking to stand up in public and be judged on your speaking ability."
