Picnic Parade work started

Work is well underway on the establishment of Picnic Parade as the main thoroughfare to Ettalong, and the beach.

The work includes kerb and guttering on both sides of the street and the construction of large planter boxes on the centre median strip.

The planter boxes consist of two sets of brick "boxes", each set being 50 metres long with a lower level on the outside.

The boxes will contain small shrubs and each set will be separated by a 45 metre stretch of grass and mulch with the retention of the existing trees making them a feature.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of January according to Gosford Council's Peninsula-based engineer, Steve Mitchell-Hill and is expected to create a sense of grand entry to one of the Peninsula's major attractions.
