Dementia brochure produced for carers

The Central Coast Health's Dementia Care team has produced a brochure to assist the carers of people who have been admitted to hospital suffering from memory loss.

The brochure contains many tips to help minimise the difficulties that arise when dealing with a person who suffers from memory loss is hospitalised.

Dementia Care manager Ms Beryl Mason said: "A hospital admission can be daunting for anyone, and even more so for the person who has a memory problem."

"This brochure provides information on when to tell the patient about going to hospital, preparation, arrival, leaving the person at the hospital, visiting, discharge and after discharge:"

For further information, or if you would like a copy of the brochure, contact the Dementia Care team on 4320 3738 or 4320 2281.
