Well wishes for Peninsula residents in 2000

Now that we have entered a new Millennium, may I take this opportunity to wish you every happiness and good health during the year 2000.

The Christmas Carols held at Woy Woy Oval on Saturday, December 18, were a resounding success.

Congratulations must go to all those associated with the staging of this major event, which I am sure will become a permanent date to be set aside by residents at Christmas time.

The entertainers were introduced by Gosford Town Crier, Stephen Clarke, and the spectacular fireworks at the conclusion of the evening were a fitting climax to a top evening of entertainment enjoyed by both adults and children alike.

The Peninsula Carols 1999 were proudly sponsored by Woy Woy and District Rugby Leagues Club; McDonalds, Woy Woy; Gosford City Council; Deepwater Plaza and Northern Eagles (formerly the North Sydney Bears), as well as a number of other organisations and individuals.

Residents will be pleased to learn that a pedestrian refuge in Railway St, leading into Deepwater Plaza, is scheduled for construction in February.

This will provide safer access for persons alighting buses at the railway station, who wish to shop at Deepwater Plaza.

The lifts at Railway St level in the Medical (Clocktower) Centre building are now operating.

These lifts are inspected by Gosford City Council officers on a regular basis.

Persons wishing to cross Railway St to access the railway station or catch buses in the interchange are advised to use these lifts to ensure a safe crossing of this busy roadway.

Widows\Widowers of former NSW Government public transport railway, bus and ferry employees who had 30 years service and over are now eligible for a Gold Pass.

Application forms can be obtained from my office at 20 Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy.

Telephone 4342 4122.
