The monthly meeting of the Zone 5 RSL bowls competition was held at Everglades Bowling Club on December 6.
This was the last event of the year and 120 bowlers participated including G Armstrong, K Cowls, R Ward, L Schroder, G Evans, G Benson, H Rimmer, F Nairn, G Craig, C Greenwood, F Seady and R Fairleigh from Woy Woy Bowling Club.
The first Zone 5 event for the year 2000 is to be played at Woy Woy Bowling Club commencing on January17 and the subsequent three Mondays.
The semi finals and finals will be held at the Tuggerah Lakes Memorial Club on February 16 and 18.
Woy Woy Bowling club has entered two teams: Jack Leslie, John Longbein and Ray Fairleigh in one team, and George Evans, F red Chalmers and Gordon Armstrong in the other.
The 24th annual Woy Woy Night Maestro Triples will be held at Woy Woy Bowling Club commencing on February 28 at 7pm.
Entry fee is $21 per team and trophies to the value of $4800 will be presented at the completion of the competition.
Entrants need not be members of the same club and a maximum of 84 teams will be accepted.
Entries close February 7.
Sunday afternoon mixed bowls took place at Woy Woy Bowling Club on December 5 and December 19 and resumed this year on January 9.
Woy Woy women's bowls resumed on January 13 with Club Fours due to resume on January 20.
Ettalong Bowling Club has entered the Premier League and will be competing at St Johns Park in Sydney on February 13.
This is expected to be one of the feature games of the season with many stars of Australian bowls on display.
These include Steve Glasson, Adam Jeffery, Rex Johnson, Kevin Tresize and Kevin Walsh.
The following day will see Ettalong compete against Grandviews.
A supporters package including travel to both events and accommodation for a total cost of $60 has been arranged and is available from the Ettalong Memorial Bowls Club office.
On March 18, Ettalong will take on West Dubbo at Dubbo and a similar package at the same cost has also been arranged.
Umina Beach Bowling Club now have their lights in place and have commenced night competition.
Australian Champion Rob Parella is expected to visit the club in the near future.
