Business insights given at workshops
The second of the three-part Business Enterprise Workshop program is to begin in February with a four week workshop on 'How to Write a Business Plan'.
Workshop
It will be held each Monday night beginning on February 7 at 6.30pm at the Ettalong Beach Memorial Club.
Christine Drakeford and Wal Reynolds from the Business Enterprise Centre will be conducting each workshop.
This is sponsored by the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and, for a cost of $30 each session, will provide valuable insight into running a successful business.
If you would like to book or obtain more information then contact the Mainstreet office.
Market Day
The Ettalong Beach Heritage Committee has been holding an Art and Craft Market Day on the first Saturday of each month at the Ettalong Beach Post Office forecourt.
It is open to any interested people who may wish to display or sell their craft.
The cost is $10 per stall and all proceeds go to the continuing beautification of Ettalong Beach under the Mainstreet Program.
Business Watch
The last meeting held in December was again a very successful and interesting meeting with Senior Sgt Irene Jeurgens providing the business people with valuable advice and information on shoplifting.
The next meeting will be in March and advanced notice will be given of the date and meeting place.
Thank you to all those who attended and shared their experiences and advice.
It is extremely important to have that business input.
Pelican Feeding
Pelican Feeding at the Woy Woy waterfront has begun this week.
Each day at 3pm, 'Pelican Pete' feeds approximately 40 pelicans and gives a commentary on our local wildlife.
With the upgrading of Pelican Park, large numbers of visitors have been attracted to the waterfront to enjoy the activities.
Congratulations to Fishermans Wharf and the Watersedge Motel for sponsoring this terrific tourist attraction.
It is sure to become as well received as the Pelican feeding at the Entrance.
Palm Beach Ferry
The new Palm Beach Ferry service is proving to be a great success.
In the first week of January, the ferry carried over 4000 passengers between Palm Beach and Ettalong Beach.
The potential of this small but efficient service is enormous.
Visitors arrive willing to experience village atmosphere and spend dollars in our shops and businesses.
This is valuable income.
Therefore, Peninsula businesses should make sure they accommodate the needs of these important customers.
With careful planning, there are additional opportunities for the shrewd entrepreneur to provide complementary business services to the ferry operation.
