Kristie wins scholarship

Umina High School student, Kristie Jackson, 17, has won a $2000 scholarship to attend the prestigious Tocal Agricultural College.

Kristie has been involved in Umina High's cattle show successes.

The school has won awards around Australia, including at The Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Kristie will board at the college during her Year 12 year.

Kristie has shown a great aptitude for the agricultural aspects of her high school work and spends most of her time at the school's agricultural farm caring for the animals.

Kristie lives at Narara and has been travelling to Umina every day.

She was extremely keen to continue her studies in agriculture but her present difficult family circumstances would have meant that this would not have been possible without the scholarship which she has now achieved.
