June rainfall already above average

The Peninsula had 30.8mm of rain in the fortnight to 9am on Friday, June 21.

This rainfall brought the total for the month to 164.2mm, 23.2mm more than the average of 141mm, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

The rain came on two days: 26.0mm recorded on Saturday, June 15, and 4.8mm recorded the following day.

A total of 963.8mm of rain has fallen so far this year, 17.7 per cent more than the average mid-year total of 819mm.

The figure is also greater than the total rainfall last year of 876mm.
