Leo competes in State discus after breaking local record

Woy Woy Little Athlete Leo Terjesen-Soem has competed in discus in the Little Athletics State Championships held at Olympic Park in Sydney from Friday to Sunday, March 21 to 23.

Leo broke the Woy Woy centre's U11 Boys Discus record with a throw of 34.27m this season.

The previous record of 33.13m stood since 1987.

At the State Championships, Leo came 15th with a throw of 26.05m.

Winner of the event was Lachlan Chappell of Randwick-Botany with a throw of 39.54m.

The state record is a throw of 41.51m recorded in 2019 by Jozef Cluff of Smithfield.
