Nominations of seniors wanted for local achievement
Nominations have been called for Local Achievement Awards for senior citizens.
Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch said: "The awards celebrate the vast contributions and achievements seniors make across our community.
"If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution.
"We can all think of someone who makes a difference in our lives in immeasurable ways.
"I encourage everyone to nominate these special seniors, who make our community a better place.
"By highlighting seniors' continued efforts in helping Gosford (electorate) thrive, we are continuing to challenge ageism and empower seniors to overcome social stigmas."
Winners of the awards will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from March 11-24.
"This annual festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older people in our families and society."
Nominations may be made online at https://forms.gle/WGofNrAHuYzoRjBj7 and close at 5pm on February 1.
