Pharmacy updates mural to reflect staff changes
Ettalong Pharmacy has updated the mural on the rear wall of its shop.
"The original was commissioned by my father and landlord, Mr Tony McPhee, around a decade ago," said pharmacist Mr Stephen McPhee.
"Since then of course, we've had some staff leave, and new people join, so I asked the original artist Mr Bruce Galvin, husband of our dispensary assistant Lynda, to update it. "Despite my pleas for a Brad Pitt jawline and Hugh Jackman eyes, my caricature is unfortunately very recognisable."
The only significant artistic licence was taken with "the unfortunate person under the vehicle in the upper left corner, depicting the numerous non-fatal pedestrian crossing incidents we've had over the years".
"Otherwise it's pretty true to form.
"It's nice to keep to the old heritage theme the local Chamber of Commerce decided on all those years ago."
