Charity event adds $1135 to make $19,000 total

Ettalong Charity Bowlers raised $1135 at their event at Ettalong Bowling Club on Sunday, December 17.

This brought the total raised by the group for the Central Coast Kids in Need charity to almost $19,000 for the year.

The bowlers presented their cheque for the year to Kids in Need treasurer Ms Rhonda Doyle and secretary Ms Lorraine Churchill.

"We are a small volunteer organisation which raises money to provide financial assistance to families of seriously-ill Central Coast children, who are required to go to Sydney or Newcastle hospitals for treatment," said Ms Churchill.

"We do this, by easing the financial burden for medications, equipment, travel and accommodation."

Charity bowls co-ordinator Mr Ken Dixon said: "Future charity bowls events will be held on the third Sunday of each month during 2024."

Mr Dixon said the December charity bowls day was "another great day, thanks to all who supported the event".

"We had 48 bowlers on the green.

"Lyn Sawyer won the spider, while the winning rink draw was won by Julie Vale, Peter Jellicoe and John Greentree.

"Ken Dixon won the Wednesday Bowlers prize, while Jenny Hibbert and Dave Downey were the successful bidders for the auction items.

"Our ham and salad lunch was donated by Ettalong Bendigo Bank and expertly served up by Dolly, Marilyn and Annie."
