Exchange student is presented with blazer
The Rotary Club of Umina Beach has presented its 2024 exchange student Reese Vergara of her Rotary exchange student blazer at its Christmas party.
Reese will travel to Denmark this month for a year's stay, where she will attend school and immerse herself in Danish culture staying with local families.
The club is currently hosting Swiss exchange student Justin Cuennet, who attended the presentation
The previous week, the club was treated to a surprise visit from Thyra Jorjenson, the Danish exchange student it hosted in 2018-19, who dropped in while visiting Australia with her family.
"Thyra updated us on what has been happening for her since she left us," said club president Mr Wayne Dowdle.
Pictured on the night were Mr Glen and Ms Di Scorer, Ms Olwyn Lewis, Ms Marlene and Mr Tom O'Connor, Mr Bruce and Ms Lesley Croft, Mr Peter Doherty and Mr Pat Lewis.
