Soccer club absorbs most of fee increase
Southern and Ettalong United Football Club has decided to pass on to its members only one fifth of the Central Coast Football fee increase.
"We know times are not easy for all," said club president Mr Sam Appleby.
"In addition, we have reduced fees in our 8-12 age bracket to ease the jump in fees from the 7-8 bracket.
"Although there has been a sharp increase in fees in our seniors, we have also decided to reduce the club portion of the fees to help out.
"Our committee has been working tirelessly in the off-season to ensure we are improving across the board.
"We have created a new team formation and evaluation policy ready for a smoother transition from registration into teams based on player evaluations performed by qualified football specialists.
"We have upgraded our player and coaching development programs with the introduction of an experienced club-wide technical director Augusto Terra.
"We are providing a strong framework of support for senior women."
He said the club had bought new training and game-day equipment, and that new club-wide kits would rollout starting this season.
"Even though we have reduced our club fees, we are working harder than ever to provide a club culture that we can be proud of.
"Our club portion of the fees covers 28 weeks of pre-season, regular season and finals series."
He said fees went to buy new gear, to maintain existing gear and club facilities, and to buy better technology and equipment to make volunteers' jobs easier.
They also covered insurance and security.
Registration opens on the Central Coast Football website from tomorrow, January 9.
