Americana theme at next Troubadour concert
"Americana with a perfect twist" will be the theme of the Troubadour Folk Club concert next Saturday night.
The concert will feature the finger-picking blues and soulful mouth harp of Rory Ellis and Christian Marsh at the concert at 7pm at Everglades Country Club in Woy Woy.
They will be supported by the Night Owls, originally from Queensland, now based on the Central Coast, said folk club president Mr Michael Fine.
"Rory Ellis has toured extensively throughout Australia, mainland Europe and the UK and has recorded 10 studio albums, to national and international acclaim.
"When you hear him picking out tunes on the resonator blues guitar and sing with his unforgettably deep soulful voice, you would be forgiven for totally disbelieving that he once sang opera.
"It shows in the quality and presentation of this entertaining, highly acclaimed singer songwriter.
"Rory is joined on stage by his long-time friend and virtuoso harmonica player Christian Marsh.
"Christian is a world renowned master of the chromatic and diatonic harmonica, and has been a long-term Central Coast resident.
"He has won the Gold Harmonica Awards in Tamworth three times, and has featured on many high profile Australian and International artists' albums and stages."
Mr Fine said the pair would be supported by the Night Owls a trio of Stewart Porter, Jeannie Kay and Geoff Wright, playing a mix of Bluegrass, Country and Folk.
"Multi instrumentalists, they make their music with guitar, harmonica, mandolin, dobro and banjo and combine great musicianship, vocals and harmonies to provide entertaining, foot tapping music."
