First concert 'with a rock vibe' at Pearl Beach arboretum

The Pearl Beach Arboretum will host its "first concert with a rock vibe" when The Beatles Rebooted performs at 2:30pm on Saturday, October 7.

Presented by the Arboretum together with the Pearl Beach Progress Association, the event will raise money for the two non-profit organisations.

"These community-based organisations rely on revenue from events and activities to manage overheads and upkeep," said progress association publicity officer Ms Lynne Lillico.

"While we have had music events in the Pearl Beach Arboretum since 1995, this is the first concert with a rock vibe.

"This concert will provide two and a half hours of entertainment by a popular Beatles tribute band in a relaxing bushland setting.

"All the favourites will be performed, from the psychedelia of Strawberry Fields and Come Together to the haunting beauty of Yesterday and Eleanor Rigby."

The first half of the show will feature songs from their rock n roll Twist and Shout cavern days.

After intermission, the songs will include I am The Walrus, She's Leaving Home, Hello Goodbye, and Here Comes the Sun, with a live string section.

Patrons were encouraged to bring a chair, rug, picnic and drinks, said Ms Lillico.

Parking will be available near the tennis courts, accessed via Tourmaline Ave, with a donation to the local fire brigade.

Tickets cost $45 per adult and $25 per child, plus a booking fee: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/beatles-rebooted-at-the-arboretum-tickets-629038329577.
