Clean-up in Woy Woy Bay nets 440kg

North Gosford Learning Centre students joined Clean4Shore in Woy Woy Bay last Thursday morning, September 14.

The students removed 13 full bags of rubbish from 600 metres of foreshore close to the Woy Woy railway station, according to co-ordinator Mr Graham Johnston.

They removed an old squatter's campsite and a 16-foot derelict fibreglass vessel that had drifted into the mangroves south of the station.

Treated pine, marine seats, plastic drums and buckets were also loaded on board with an old car wreck identified as needing removal.

The vessel was towed back to Gosford Sailing Club then "flipped" into the barge for an offload of 440kg at Woy Woy tip.
