College wins four Minister's Awards

Brisbane Water Secondary College has won four awards at the NSW Education Minister's and Secretary's Awards for excellence at Sydney Town Hall on Tuesday, September 5.

They were among 165 awards presented to NSW public school teachers, students, employees and parents at the Awards.

College captain Charli Grant received an award for "excellence in student achievement".

Teacher Mr Andy Westerhoff received an award for "excellence in teaching".

Woy Woy campus principal Ms Rebecca Cooper received an award for "excellent service".

The college itself received an award for "excellence in school achievement".

The awards aimed to celebrate "the best of public schooling, outstanding achievement of individuals and breakthrough school initiatives centred around literacy, numeracy, science, student well-being and community partnerships".

"We have an amazing team and a great student community," said Ms Cooper.

"The awards and acknowledgment are ours to share."
