Parliamentary recognition for Umina CWA
The Umina Beach branch of the Country Women's Association has been recognised in State Parliament by Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch.
The branch has recently been presented with a copy of her community recognition statement made on June 29.
"It was lovely to visit the beautifully designed accessibility upgrades at the Country Women's Association Hall in Umina Beach and enjoy a cup of tea and cake with the ladies," she said.
"The Centre reopened after having major renovation updates to make the venue accessible for all visitors, including a ramp for disabled access, a new entry way, as well as a large accessible bathroom with two toilets and a shower.
"These simple changes will make joining CWA activities so much easier for everyone in our community.
"The impact of the CWA's work across our community cannot be measured.
"For women across the community, the CWA provides a safe and welcoming place to come together, enjoy a laugh and make new friends.
"The range of activities from cooking, sewing, craft and even a book club mean that there's something for everyone.
"I am inspired by the ladies' efforts and determination to raise much of the needed funds through regular fundraising activities to help boost the grant funding."
