Ettalong is entered in Tidy Towns competition

A tourism body representing the Peninsula region has entered Ettalong in the 2019 Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns Competition.

Peninsula Tourism Partners president Ms Kim Cole said the group had entered Ettalong into the competition on February 2 and that the competition represented a unique opportunity for the township.

"Ettalong Beach is truly a beautiful place but is a bit rough around the edges.

"We will be putting strategies into place to fix issues such as litter on our beach, the 50 garbage bins that line our streets, overgrown gardens beds, graffiti and the list goes on.

"We will be calling on assistance from the local community and council to make Ettalong a Tidy Town," Ms Cole said.

Ms Cole is now forming a taskforce to get the beautification of Ettalong underway.

Anyone interested in joining the taskforce can contact Ms Cole on 4343 0140.

The Tidy Towns Competition officially starts in August.
