Risque cabaret for Festival of Women

A risque cabaret and burlesque show that challenges stereotypes and gender norms will be held in Woy Woy as part of the 2019 Central Coast Festival of Women.

The Rayon Riot cabaret show will be performed at Everglades Country Club on March 9.

According to festival committee member Ms Sally Jope, the show, which will be presented by the Naughty Noodle Fun Haus, aligned perfectly with the theme of this year's International Women's Day: Better the Gender Balance, Better the World.

Ms Jope said the show was "a monumental multi-generational line-up of female-identifying artists exploring resilience, empowerment and liberation through cabaret, burlesque, storytelling and performance art".

"Challenge your assumptions, bust apart stereotypes and celebrate original, cutting edge work this International Women's day because, when you can't find someone to follow, you have to find a way to lead by example," Ms Jope said.
