Ettalong bowler wins pairs championship
Ettalong Memorial Bowling Club's Bailey Metti teamed up with Halekulani bowler Josh McDonnell to take out the Central Coast Zone Under-18 Pairs Championship on February 11.
It was an outstanding game with Metti and McDonnell overcoming Halekulani's Reegan Peterson and Travis Henley 19-12.
"Petersen and Henley jumped away to an early 7-0 lead with McDonnell and Metti coming back to lead 9-8 on the eighth end with both teams then levelling at 12-all after 12 ends," said Bowls Central Coast publicity officer Mr Kevin Dring.
"The skills and talent of the Central Coast youth was on full display and had the small crowd of spectators on the edge of their seats.
"It looked as if the title would go down to the wire, but one wayward end by Peterson and Henley dropping five shots cost them the title."
