The party with no beer
Nice party but...
During the stage show at the Oyster Festival on Sunday, October 26, men in black T-shirts with "Security" emblazoned across their back were telling all beer drinkers that it was an "alcohol-free zone" and you could only drink wine.
It is either "alcohol free" or it is not.
You cannot say it is all right to drink one type of alcohol but not another.
It does not make sense.
Even the "alcohol-free zone" signs put up by the Council were covered over.
People were told to go and buy wine if they wanted to drink.
Did the Gosford Council hire these men or were they touting for business for the wine merchants?
On one occasion, they confiscated about six cans of beer from a couple of young men even though they had no authority to do so.
To relieve a person of his property without legal authority is a crime.
It is called stealing.
What happened to the beer? How was the beer disposed of?
Are beer drinkers an outcast in this society?
We were all invited to this party, but on no account BYOG.
