Little Theatre presents On Golden Pond

Woy Woy Little Theatre will present On Golden Pond from November 14 to 29.

Written by Ernest Thompson and directed by Barbara Hickey, the family-oriented play revolves around an elderly couple who annually escape the Virginian heat to holiday in their favourite spot "Golden Pond".

Director Barbara Hickey said that it was a pleasure to direct such a beautifully-written play.

"Norman (John Hickey), in his early 70s, is flirting with senility which he plays to the hilt," she said.

"Ethel (Joan Dalgleish), practical and sensible, is Norman's opposite.

"Norman's estranged daughter and her fiance Bill, with his son Billy in tow, arrive and slowly the respect and love re-develops.

"This beautiful play creates memorable characters who will remain with you long after the curtain closes.

"On Golden Pond is a classic, the characters are well defined and the love story spans a lifetime of good and bad times.

"Norman and Ethel have survived it all with the love intact and their love and commitment to each other will live long in our memories."

The play will run at 8pm on Fridays, November 14, 21 and 28, and Saturdays, November 22 and 29, and at 2pn on Saturday, November 22, and on Sundays, November 16, 23 and 29.

Ticket prices are adults $16, concession $12 and child up to 15 years $5.
