Principal criticises restructure plan

Brishane Water Secondary College Woy Woy campus principal Mr David Beattie has criticised the restructure proposed by the Department of Education.

"The proposal establishes 10 regions linking the Central Coast with the Hunter," he said.

It would form the largest region in terms of number of schools, and second largest in terms of numbers of students and teachers, he sad.

"The Principal's Council has reviewed the proposal and rejects it completely based on the inequities it creates, the reduction in support for schools from district offices and the lack of educational thought that has gone into the cost-cutting exercise.

"I encourage all readers to look at the proposal and let the department know it is a step backwards in the provision of education to our students," Mr Beattie said.
