Work for dole at Woy Woy

Mission Australia at Woy Woy has secured new Work for the Dole places for the Working Towards Work project

There were 26 places for Mission Australia in Gosford, Kincumber, Somersby and Woy Woy, announced by Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd on Thursday October 23.

Funding for the project was announced as part of three new projects involving an additional 61 places that have secured funding on the Central Coast.

The project involves a variety of activities including childcare, maintenance, retail, administration and animal care within the local community

"Work for the Dole gives unemployed people work experience," Mr Lloyd said.

"It provides supervision by local people, and it involves teamwork and initiative by the participants," he said.

"The Government is firmly committed to Work for the Dole.

"It provides valuable work experience for participants and offers local communities new or better facilities.

"It shows real partnerships between community groups who sponsor activities, participants and the community.

"That's why it's a success," Mr Lloyd said.
