Umina CWA holds art exhibition
The Umina Beach Branch of the Country Women's Association held its fourth art exhibition on Saturday, October 18.
Students of Amber Art Studio exhibited 79 paintings.
Branch publicity officer Ms Clare Wren said many paintings sold.
"Plenty of Red Stickers were to be seen," she said.
The newly-elected president Mrs Lorraine Denning welcomed guests and introduced Member for Peats, Ms Marie Andrews, who officially opened the exhibition.
Ms Andrews praised the students on their excellent work.
She also spoke of the charitable work done by the Country Women's Association, both locally and state-wide.
More than 120 guests attended including group president Mrs Pat Brian, group secretary Mrs Noela Bell, group treasurer Mrs Margaret Pollard, and members from Dora Creek, Gosford, Hornsby and Lisarow-Ourimbah branches.
"Members from Probus clubs, garden clubs, church groups and Umina Beach members really enjoyed the champagne and chicken sandwiches," Ms Wren said.
There were craft, cake, card and book stalls.
