Two compete in State titles

Two students from Authentic Taekwon-Do, Woy Woy, competed in the National All Styles State Titles on Sunday, October 26.

James Luke and Melissa Woods travelled to Sydney early on Sunday morning for registration and competed in the afternoon.

The State titles saw people coming from as far as Coffs Harbour to compete for a place in the National Team.

The competition ran all day starting at 8:30am and finishing at 6pm.

James competed in the point sparring division for his age but did not make it into the finals.

He made into the top eight earning him a place on the state team.

Melissa competed in the Women's Intermediate Patterns and Point Sparring.

She did not win a place in the patterns but won first place in the Point Sparring.

She is now State Champion for the Point Sparring Division.

Both James and Melissa have qualified for the National Titles to be held in Sydney on December 6 and 7 but they both said they were still unsure if they would compete.

Both were testing for their next belts within the next few months and said they wanted to concentrate on that.
