Let's applaud the council

I feel that I need to respond to Murray Cairns' letter printed on September 9 regarding the Peninsula Leisure Centre.

This facility has been planned for some time and will be a valuable asset for all local residents.

I understand that the original proposal was extensively changed by council to include acoustic fencing and tree planting with advanced trees.

Additional insulation has also been added to the roofs and acoustic louvres in the basketball courts.

Let's not forget that the new pool will be indoors.

The old pool was out in the open.

Why don't we all just applaud the council for providing the funds for such a terrific facility and let them get on with building it!
