Team building activities for rugby officials

Rugby World Cup referees, assessors, citing officers and IRB management staff will be involved in team-building activities provided by a Peninsula tour operator.

Tour operator Southern Adventurers of Daleys Point will be conducting the pre-games team building activities.

They will be taken on a guided kayaking and bush-walking adventure through Brisbane Waters National Park, around the Patonga Creek area.

Owners of Southern Adventures, Anton and Mellaney Colenbrander, have been operating their locally-based business for two years.

In November last year, Southern Adventures entered their bid alongside competition from around the country and, after a series of interviews and eight months of waiting, their successful bid was recently announced.

The officials will be encouraged to reflect on how they dealt with the adventure challenges and then relate these to the realities they will be facing in the weeks that follow.

Ms Colenbrander said that the Peninsula provided an excellent venue for these kinds of activities.

"The Central Coast is close enough to Sydney so as not to allow distance to be a deterrent, yet it offers an unspoiled wealth of beautiful clean waterways and bushland, enabling delegates to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

"We have a lot of faith in the Central Coast as a region of great potential," she said.
