Heritage value is not protected
Despite Cr Judith Penton's assertion, the fact that the "owner is spending thousands" restoring "Coolibah" at 2 Pearl Beach Dr (Peninsula News, December 17) is no guarantee at all that its heritage value will be protected.
Indeed the fact that its name has been obliterated and its inclusion on the council's heritage list opposed suggests that its heritage values are not appreciated and will probably be lost through "restoration" as can already be seen in the destruction of the old bush garden in front of the house and its replacement by a massive concrete drive.
