Folk Club audience sang along
The audience sang along to well known folk songs performed by Leon Rabin at the Troubadour Folk Club in Woy Woy last Friday night.
An experienced folk singer, Leon Rabin released two LPs in South Africa through CBS in the 1960's before touring Britain, Europe and the United States and moving to Australia 16 years ago.
Leon, from Sydney, was one of two guest artists to perform.
Raelene Brunsma, of Melbourne, was the other.
She came to Woy Woy fresh from the Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland.
Most of the songs she performed she had written herself, the audience enjoying her quirky and heartfelt lyrics.
Regular local artists who performed on the night included Bill Bekric, Shirley O'Toole and Jeff and Meg Woodhead.
Next month's Troubadour Folk Club features Triantan, a trio from Sydney.
Judy Pinder, Miguel Heatwole and Anthony Woolcott sang unaccompanied harmonies at the recent Gulgong Folk Festival.
They sing Irish and Scottish songs, both in English and Gaelic.
