Drama group stages play
Amanda Benson's Drama and Discovery (ABD&D) group based at Umina PCYC has staged a play called "What's up Rudolph".
"A packed house watched the play which was about a wicked queen casting a spell on Rudolph and Snow White having an extra dwarf named Hic Cuppy," said Ms Benson.
The play was 20 minutes long.
In 2003 ABD&D will be running the classes on Monday with times yet to be finalised.
Amanda said "The courses are limited in size to 15 students and have a waiting list."
Amanda has lived in Umina for the past three years with her husband and her two children.
She decided in Easter last year to approach the PCYC and set up ABD&D to run drama classes for children ranging in ages from five years to nine years and from nine year olds to 16 years old.
Amanda said: "The junior class gives the children fun and confidence while in the older group the emphasis is more on using script work."
This year the plan is for ABD&D to use a digital camera with the groups so they can get instruction in what occurs on a "film set".
