Bouddi Foundation addresses Rotary Club

Bouddi Foundation for the Arts chairman Mr John Bell and vice-chair Mr Phillip Walker have addressed the Rotary Club of Woy Woy at its meeting on Tuesday, June 11.

The pair told the club that the Foundation was now in its 14th year of providing grants, mentorship and encouragement to young artists aged 15 to 25, said Rotary president Mr Trevor Walker.

"Since inception, over 225 grants have been awarded totaling over $455,000.

"There has been great success with a number of the grant recipients gaining recognition in their fields, several studying overseas, then returning to professional placements in nationally respected organisations across the arts in Australia.

"The Foundation is totally dependent on donations to deliver their support and with the number of talented applicants increasing each year, the need for community support is greater than ever.

"Though we were few in numbers, yet again, the interest from our members was evident, with many questions asked and answered."
