What input will councillors have into corporate structure?
Years ago at a Gosford Council meeting, Cr Terri Latella requested general manager Mr Peter Wilson to "critique" the council's administration.
This was at the time many questions were asked about the transparency of the council's corporate structure.
It was obvious from the general manager's response, from all communication indicators, there was resentment from staff over the external consultant's advice and recommendations regarding administration change and also to change to the number of directors.
Previously the council had three directors.
This was a contentious matter for the general manager.
Public opinion disagreed with the inadequacy of only three directors.
It will be of interest during the short run to September 2024, if this in-house attitude will be diametrically changed by Administrator Mr Rik Hart and if it will continue post election.
How will the number of councillors and wards be decided and importantly what input will councillors have into the corporate structure?
Will these questions be answered before the election or deferred to sometime in the future?
