Volunteer and career brigades join in quick fire control

Umina Fire and Rescue firefighters joined with the Pearl Beach Rural Fire Service brigade to extinguish a fire on public land behind Burdett Pl, Umina, around 8pm on Tueday, December 12.

An area of 100 metres square was burning behind properties in Burdett Pl.

"Conditions were favorable and, with the assistance of NSW RFS Pearl Beach Brigade, the fire was quickly brought under control and the scene was ultimately handed over to the RFS for final extinguishment."

The Pearl Beach Brigade posted: "As always, we greatly appreciate the assistance of our colleagues from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 340 Umina, along with fellow NSW Rural Fire Service Brigades Patonga Volunteer Rural Bush Fire Brigade and The Bays Rural Fire Brigade.

"It's always terrific to see how seamlessly our volunteer and career firefighters work together to protect our community when incidents like this occur."
