Patonga visits increase by 21 per cent in July holidays

Visits to Patonga camp ground were 15 per cent more from July to September this year than the same period last year, according to a council report.

The figures were contained in Central Coast Council's Operational Plan 2020-21 Quarter 1 Business Report (July to September).

"Based on the first quarter numbers, Patonga camp ground is on track to meet its annual targeted number of nights stayed by tourists on sites or in cabins."

The annual target was 15,000 nights.

"The first quarter is up 15.12 per cent on the same period in 2019-20.

"The July school holiday numbers are up 20.96 per cent from last year."

However, the numbers attending the Peninsula Leisure Centre were 95,890, well short of the target of 165,000 for the total of swimming, sports programs and health and fitness.

The report said the Woy Woy Structure Plan was on target for completion by June 30.

"The economic feasibility study has been completed and traffic study well underway. "Preliminary options are to be developed early 2021."
