Bridge club required to buy hot spot and employ cleaner

The transition to Council management of the Peninsula Community Centre has meant the Brisbane Water Bridge Club has had to buy a wifi "hot-spot" for internet access and to employ its own cleaner.

The club had not previously had to do this, according to the club's most recent bulletin.

Otherwise, the transition has been described as "fairly smooth".

With the relaxation of coronavirus restrictions, the club is no longer limited to 20 people per activity.

The club can now have up to 48 people in the bridge clubroom and the same in the seniors' room.

The club has organised a number of events for January.

A New Year's Cup will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, January 2.

The event will include a section for under 50 master points, if minimum five tables pre-register.

Open section pre-entry will not be required.

Individual Club Championship events will be held on Mondays, January 11 and 18 with a maximum of 40 entries.

Players must register for both sessions, at a cost of $15.

An Australia Day Pairs event will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, January 26.

The event will include a section for under 50 master points, if minimum five tables pre-register.
