Level One water restrictions to remain until November

Level One water restrictions will remain in place through the winter months even if the Mangrove Creek dam reached 55 per cent capacity.

Council director Mr Jamie Loader told the July 13 Central Coast Council meeting said the dam's level that day was 54.5 percent.

The Level One restrictions were to be dropped in favour of Water Wise rules once the Mangrove Creek Dam reached 55 percent capacity.

The Council decided to keep the restrictions in place on the recommendation of staff, with the situation to be reassessed in November.

Mr Loader said it would be no impost on the community during winter and the position could be revisited in November, going into summer.

He said he was recommending that trigger levels went up as needed, with any easing of those levels being a Council decision.
