Volunteers wanted for dunecare

The Umina Community Group is seeking volunteers for its dunecare program.

The group is currently running four Wednesday dunecare teams each month, where previously it had run two, according to Umina Community Group vice-president Mr Rod Unsworth.

Two teams are run at South St. One is held at Berith St, and the other will be held at Ocean Beach Rd, adjacent to the Umina Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

The Ocean Beach Rd team meets on the first Wednesday of the month, led by Ms Jan Deighton.

The Berith St team meets on the second Wednesday of the month, led by Mr Mark Nitsos.

On the third Wednesday of the month, a team led by Ms Alison Winch meets at South St.

On the fourth Wednesday of the month, a team led by Ms Debbie Sunartha also meets at South St.

The dunecare teams meet from 9am to 11am in the winter months from April to October and from 8am to 10am in summer.
