Church receives permission for alterations
A Woy Woy church has received council permission for alterations and additions to its multi-purpose room and washrooms.
A Construction Certificate was lodged with Council on July 13 for the $160,000 project at St Luke's Anglican Church in Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy.
The development will add a multi-purpose room to the existing church and install a new unisex disabled access bathroom, a new ramp and entry doors.
Fire services will also be upgraded in the existing building to comply with the National Construction Codes for access and fire safety.
Some of the key items to be upgraded include: fire hazard properties and the fire resistance of construction materials; emergency egress widths, travel distances, stairs and door requirements; building accessibility, car parking for people with disabilities; fire extinguishers and smoke alarms; emergency lighting; exit signs; and the provision of sanitary facilities.
Central Coast granted consent for the work in March.
