Glen becomes Umina's major singles champion

Glen Simington became Umina Bowling Club's 58th Major Singles champion on Sunday, July 19.

"After a great game of bowls, Glen managed to come from behind to beat Shane 33-25," said club secretary Mr Peter Springett.

"Shane had led from the start and clung to a slender lead the entire game.

"But Glen had saved his best until the last few ends, when he finally drew level at 25-25. "From then on, there was no holding Glen back, as he drew some cracking shots to finish the game with a three on the final end."
