Mural installed on Umina school library wall

A new mural has been installed at Umina Beach Public School thanks to the school's parents and citizens association and artist Mr Dave Charles.

The association worked alongside Mr Charles during the school holidays to deliver a new wall mural to the school, said association president Ms Lucy Lamont.

"We hope this inspires and brightens the day of students, staff, parents and carers, as you all deserve a huge lift and thanks for surviving 2020 so far."

She said Mr Charles had not taken a photograph of the local beach and transformed it into a seven metre artwork on the side of the library wall, closest to the gates at the Melbourne Ave school entrance.

"We look forward to working with Dave again over Term 3 as we deliver a similar artwork and upgrade to the face of the canteen and main entrance to the school on Sydney Ave."
