Southern Spirit holds Pink Stumps Cricket Day

The Peninsula's Southern Spirit Cricket Club held a Pink Stumps Cricket Day on February 24 to raise money for the McGrath Foundation.

The Ninth Grade team played a friendly match against the Northern Power Cricket Club from San Remo.

All players donned pink hats for the fundraiser which raised $590 for the McGrath Foundation.

Organiser Mr Mark McGowan said it was a cause the club fully supported.

"We hold our Pink Stumps Day to help make life that little bit easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.

"A breast cancer diagnosis changes your life, often in ways you wouldn't expect.

"The impact can be felt right through your family and friends."

The club's fundraising page is still open on the McGrath Foundation's website for anyone wishing to donate.
