Early photos on display at Umina library

Central Coast Council has launched a photographic exhibition showing the early days of Woy Woy.

The exhibition entitled A Grand View: The Woy Woy Photographs of George Murphy aims to give a glimpse into the lives of Woy Woy's early settlers.

Mr Murphy was the son of Mr Andrew Murphy, who was one of the first people to settle in Woy Woy and was among the first generation of people born in Woy Woy.

He developed an early interest in photography and recorded a wide range of local events, landmarks and family gatherings mostly in the 1910-1930 period, which Council's Library Service have utilised to create the exhibition.

The exhibition will run from March 18 until April 5 at Umina Beach Library.
