Sculptor opens her home studio and garden

A Pearl Beach sculptor will open up her home studio and garden on the weekend of March 23 and 24 for a garden exhibition entitled The Unreal Garden.

After 20 years of creating and maintaining the Wombarra Sculpture Garden, Ms Gaby Porter and partner Mr John Haymes moved to Pearl Beach seeking a sea change.

Ms Porter has over 30 years' experience creating original sculpture for public and private commissions in Australia and overseas and has works displayed across the country in public settings and exhibitions.

Notable works of Ms Porter include a bronze of Solomon Wiseman at Wiseman's Ferry; nine bronze cats for parkland in Kuching, Borneo; a bronze figure for Sydney's Willoughby Park; five bronze wallabies and a 2.2m stone carving for Wollongong University Campus; and a 2.5m concrete and mosaic "Shellpod" for Coledale Beach south of Sydney.

Ms Porter's garden exhibition will run from 11am to 5pm on both days.
