Medal-winning result for junior life savers

The Peninsula's two surf lifesaving clubs have returned from the 2019 State Age Surf Life Saving Championships with medals.

Umina and Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs both sent junior athletes to compete at the championships.

The event was held over March 1 and 2, hosted by Swansea Belmont Surf Life Saving Club.

Both clubs had both individual medallists and team medallists.

Ocean Beach's Under-12 Boys team took out the gold in Beach Relay.

Individual medallists for Ocean Beach included Jessica Majask who scored a silver medal in the Under-9 Girls Flags and Ryan Mason who took out the bronze in the Under-12 Boys Flags.

Umina took out two gold medals in team events with the Under-13 Girls taking out the Board Rescue and the Under-11 Girls the Beach Relay.

Individual medallists for Umina included Sienna Scahill who took out the gold in the Under-12 Girls 1km Run and Finlay Healey who took out silver in the Under 14 2km Run.
